Our readers are great at letting us know what they don’t love about Hayes Valley, but today we’d like to change things up.
It seems a couple of our neighborhood eateries will be merging locations starting next week.
(Prior to July, Don Agapito’s was known as Go Getters Deli.)
We got tipped off to Go Getters’ impending move when the restaurant’s landlord posted this Craigslist ad soliciting businesses to apply for the space. The ad says:
“This corner in Hayes Valley has high exposure and visibility due to the abundant amount of vehicle and foot traffic. The area has been experiencing a steady increase in residential population as a number of high-rise luxury apartments and condominiums are being built in the immediate vicinity. This would be a great opportunity to open a restaurant to service the needs of all these new residents!”
We’ve so far been unable to get an official comment from Go Getters on exactly why they’re moving out. We were, however, able to get a hold of Davis Nyugen from Blatteis Reality. We asked Davis to clarify if the building’s owner was forcing Go Getters to move, but he said the restaurant’s lease just happened to be up.
“It was a mutual decision,” Davis told us.
It remains to be seen whether the menus of either Go Getters or Don Agapito’s will be impacted by the consolidation of both businesses into one space. As usual, we’ll keep you informed if we learn any more details.Comments
