Buck Tavern, former District 6 Supervisor Chris Daly’s bar at 1655 Market Street, has lost its lease and will close on October 31st.
Daly made the announcement on The Buck’s Facebook page, posting an event entitled “The Buck’s Big Bon Voyage,” scheduled for 5:30pm on October 31st.
The reason for the closure, and what happens next, are a little unclear. Daly told us via Facebook:
“If you asked me last week, I would have told you that we were selling. Today, all I can say for sure is 10/31 is our last day. Oh, and we’re going to have a great party that night! (And of course, wear your nautical attire, because this ship is sailing!)”
Daly took over The Buck back in December of 2010, as his term as Supervisor expired. He secured a 22-month lease at the time, and it appears that that lease is now up.
Good luck to Daly and crew wherever they’re sailing to next. If we find out where that is, we’ll be sure to let you know.
