With seven weeks until Election Day, we’re curious how you’re feeling about the candidates.
As you know from previous posts, this Election Day we’ll be voting for our new District 5 representative who will serve on the Board of Supervisors.
There have already been a few public meetings/debates where the candidates got a chance to talk to audiences about their platforms. And we’re working on getting the answers to the questions you submitted soon.
What we’re wondering now is how informed you feel about the candidates.
An SFGate story on September 9 suggested that Christina Olague was the front-runner and that many people don’t know who the candidates are.
The article cites that the race is “a toss-up… with Lee appointee Christina Olague at 13 percent, Fire Commission member London Breed at 7 percent and the remaining six candidates at 5 percent or less – with 49 percent not even knowing who the candidates are.”
So here’s what we want to hear from you:
1) If you’ve been reading up on the candidates or attending the meetings, which candidate(s) stuck out as someone for which you might vote? Have any candidates talked about issues that matter to you most?
2) If you’re part of that 49%, what can we do here at Hayeswire to help inform you better?
