Remember when Schulzies was going to move in and make bread pudding the next cupcake?
We heard from the team on why it’s taking so long.
Set for an original opening date in February that got delayed to April that got delayed to we’re not entirely sure, Schulzies Bread Pudding is still moving in to their space at 364 Hayes Street.
We reached out to Jake Thomas-Franklin Wall, one of the members of the Schulzies team, who confirmed they are opening their store in Hayes Valley. Jake mentioned that the hold-up deals with their new dig’s status as a historical building and some things they’ve had to fix up on-site that’s taken longer than expected.
Jake pointed out that “the city has been great in the process… and we are hoping that we have jumped through the final hurdle with the city and can start to really push forward on the details of the build out getting us open mid to late summer.”
If this summer is too long to wait, they will be here in town this Saturday for the San Francisco LGBT Center’s Pride Kick-Off Party and Birthday Bash located near Market & Octavia (1800 Market).
The event takes place from 1-4pm and tickets can be purchased online.
If you’ve been jonesing for some bread pudding and want to help support our local LGBT Center, grab your ticket and stop by on Saturday.
